An Australian man that leaped over a barricade and touched Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been sent away and banned from Singapore.

The individual, aged 26, was sentenced to more than a week in detention for disrupting public order and has now been "banned from entering the country again," Singaporean immigration authorities told local media.

He forced his way past photographers and rushed toward the actress and singer, who was attending the regional launch for the film on November 13. Co-performer Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

Wen has a history of interrupting performances and celebrity events, including jumping on stage at the pop star's Australian show in the past June.

The occurrence provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with numerous people saying he of re-traumatising Grande.

The pop star has mentioned dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist bombing at her show in Manchester in spring of 2017 killed 22 people and injured hundreds.

Throughout the court proceedings, the authorities learned he had tried to gain access on the red carpet event twice, according to local news sources.

He then made a second attempt to cross the barriers. Protection personnel prevented him and pinned him down.

The man subsequently shared recordings appreciating the celebrity for allowing his presence and said he was "at liberty."

Authorities detained him the next day and charged him with causing a disturbance, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Presiding Judge the magistrate was quoted by media reports as remarking that the man sought attention, noting that he was wrong to believe he would not suffer any consequences.

The singer has not commented on the case.

Erivo spoke about the event to a media outlet, saying that she "just wanted to make sure my colleague was protected."

"I believe he didn't mean us danger, but you cannot be certain with those things, and I sought to ensure that she was alright. That was my first instinct," she commented.
