Electricity Restoration Operations in Kyiv

Efforts proceeded on Saturday to repair energy infrastructure in the Ukrainian capital, after assaults.

Energy had been returned to more than 800,000 citizens by Saturday and the largest utility provider announced the main operations to recover electricity was concluded though partial blackouts persisted.

Anti-Aircraft Efforts and UAV Interceptions

Ukraine's anti-aircraft systems intercepted or jammed fifty-four of 78 total UAVs from Russia deployed against Ukraine in the dark hours, the military announced on Saturday.

Russia's defence ministry claimed it intercepted 42 Ukrainian drones over its own soil.

Cuba Refutes Claims of Sending Forces to Ukraine

Havana on Saturday denied American claims it has sent troops to participate in the hostilities, while declaring officials in Havana "are without precise details about Cuban nationals" participating "on their own" or "within the troops of the conflicting parties".

The ministry in Havana said 26 Cuban citizens had been sentenced to prison terms from 5 to 14 years for mercenary involvement since last September when news spread of Cuban nationals being dispatched to the front in the conflict.
