British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the boxing community offered its support for the fighter in the following the devastating accident.
